This church expansion entailed an approximately 900 sf, two-story infill between two existing structures, resulting in a new skylit entry, complete with a new four-stop elevator and stair lobby.

The scope of construction involved demolition of existing roofing, drainage, lower level entry, stairs, and south wall, along with excavation around existing foundations, replacement of existing windows, and the installation of temporary and permanent drainage systems.

New amenities included a machine room, mechanical heat and ventilation, electrical upgrades, and seismic separation from the adjacent structures. In order to accommodate occupancy during construction, the existing educational building’s stairway and south wall were replaced first to provide access while the remainder of the facility was constructed.
