New Grounds Maintenance Facility
Sunset Hills Cemetery
Bellevue, Washington

KDW was hired to replace an out-of-date, outgrown maintenance facility for a large Bellevue cemetery. The new facility was located in a new, more centrally-located area of the site and included service bays, vehicle storage, marker shop, maintenance offices, and locker rooms. The primary design objective was to screen this facility from its surrounding residential neighborhood by designing it partway under grade, and surrounding the site with elegant landscape and plantings.

Mercer Slough Interpretive Shelter
City of Bellevue Parks and Recreation Department Bellevue, Washington

KDW was responsible for renovating an existing wood-framed storage shed to create a pleasant classroom environment overlooking the natural area of Mercer Slough Park. The facility is still in use today for ongoing nature studies and group meetings in conjunction with park tours. The renovation also provided secured storage for trail maintenance equipment on the lower level of the facility.
