Satellite Maintenance Facility
City of Bellevue Parks and Recreation

KDW
was hired to demolish and completely reconstruct an existing
storage facility at Bellefield Yard Satellite facility.
The resulting new 2,400 sf facility was built in a Northwest
style, using durable steel and masonry materials and
featuring an accessible bathroom.

Community Bathhouse and Pool
Driftwood Key Community
Hansville, WashingtonKDW converted the old area of the
Driftwood Key Community’s bathhouse into a game room for
children, replaced the pool’s apron and edge, and
constructed a new ADA-compliant bathhouse that includes a
pool equipment room, storage, and solar panels that provide
an efficient heat source for pool water. This project was a
huge success for the community and stayed within its
original budget of $125,000.

Robinswood Park Facilities ADA Upgrades
City of Bellevue Parks and Recreation
Bellevue, WashingtonThis existing multi-level building
did not meet ADA requirements. KDW provided studies to the
City of Bellevue that identified the most cost-effective
options for providing ADA access throughout the facility.

New Grounds Maintenance Facility
Sunset Hills Cemetery
Bellevue, WashingtonKDW was hired to replace an
out-of-date, outgrown maintenance facility for a large
Bellevue cemetery. The new facility was located in a new,
more centrally-located area of the site and included service
bays, vehicle storage, marker shop, maintenance offices, and
locker rooms. The primary design objective was to screen
this facility from its surrounding residential neighborhood
by designing it partway under grade, and surrounding the
site with elegant landscape and plantings. |

Mercer Slough Interpretive Shelter
City of Bellevue Parks and Recreation Department Bellevue,
WashingtonKDW was responsible for renovating an existing
wood-framed storage shed to create a pleasant classroom
environment overlooking the natural area of Mercer Slough
Park. The facility is still in use today for ongoing nature
studies and group meetings in conjunction with park tours.
The renovation also provided secured storage for trail
maintenance equipment on the lower level of the facility. |
