KDW was hired to design and construct this new 45,000 sf,
two-story building with a basement adjacent and connected to
an existing switching facility.
The building’s interior addressed all the technical
requirements of a sophisticated telecommunications office,
while its exterior design integrated with the architectural
integrity of its neighborhood location--incorporating
elegant brick detailing, extensive landscaping, and street
amenities.
Fast track design and construction enabled the existing
facility to remain in operation 24 hours a day, seven days a
week year-round.
KDW received a Citation Award for design of this project
from the Masonry Institute of Washington.
