The one-story building’s construction was comprised of slab on grade foundation, with CMU block exterior walls and a steel reinforced concrete/metal roof. The roof was sloped for design interest as well as ease of maintenance. No roof penetrations were allowed above equipment spaces, and only minimal penetrations were designed above the remaining areas. An innovative front portico leant a more human scale to the size of the building at its front entry.

KDW’s design was developed with future expansion in mind--the building can be easily added on towards the north end as equipment needs increase.
