KDW began by designing a prominent front gate to make it more functional as well as visually appealing, giving the large, campus-like site an obvious architectural entry and exit. A decorative shade arbor was designed with an open roofed area for the cashier station to help customers easily locate the check-out area. Other renovations were made to a variety of spaces, including the nursery, offices, outdoor plant sales, as well as seasonal plant sales areas.

To keep the cost of construction within the owner’s budget, KDW’s design featured simple construction details to enable construction to be done by nursery crews during the off season.
